We aren’t sending all of our bids to every rental house, we aren’t sending camera lists to Grip houses, we aren’t sending G&E lists to camera houses, and we aren’t shortcutting communication by depending upon web platforms and AI. None of this automated. With brick & mortars in New York, LA, & New Orleans, we’re handling this all with human interaction.

Informed and Experienced Renters
Inexperienced productions can often be more hassle than they’re worth. Students or newly minted producers don’t know how to format gear lists, they don’t understand production schedules fully, they don’t have experience with production insurance, they don’t have much money, and they don’t know what they truly need for their shoot. FilmLab takes these productions under its wing, and makes sure that by the time their business is brought to (or circled back to) the rental house, that it’s done in a more professional manner. These productions, reorganized in a professional capacity, become very profitable and worthwhile in bulk for vendors.
Inventory Protection
We’ve all been in the position where a large rental return results in the renter saying they returned some items, and the rental house saying they never received them. For larger rentals, if both parties agree, we’ll send an experienced crew member of our own to monitor the return and make sure that all hiccups in this department are avoided.
